A couple of maps on the workshop already have bug race units and they are quite fun to play as or against. There are also insect units in the sandbox mode (which allows you to place units and buildings freely) which indicates an bug race may be added soon, which would be great, and a good candidate for the old spam-based AI. you + a strategic AI vs multiple horde AI. It would be even better if there was an option for the AI to still use the old random units mode, so that you could have e.g. At the moment, simply building defences with repair bays around the map catches and kills the AI's randomly attack-moving units easily. In a way, this is still fun to fight against since it creates a "player vs disorganised horde" feeling, but I'm hoping the next update will have an improved AI that can form attack groups and use overall strategies. The AI also receives an income multiplier. The main weakness is the AI, which simply spams any unit it can afford (at a certain probability per unit), then attack moves each unit randomly across the map. Updates are slow but usually contain major improvements and lot of minor ones so are worth the wait. 3 AI teams with 3 AI each vs the player and fighting each other).
